In conjunction with AFS Japan, AFS IEP Ghana is offering a scholarship worth over $9,000 for a High School Year exchange in Japan. In this program you will travel to a Japan to study in High School and live with a Japanese family for one year.
This is a unique adventure where you are going to discover a new culture, learn a new language, become an Active Global Citizen and be part of a Global Community forever.
The AFS Year Abroad High School program is all about Personal Growth, Cultural Exploration, Active Global Citizenship and Belonging.
The scholarship covers a return international flight, medical insurance, local transportation, host-family, school supplies & fees, orientations (pre-departure, arrival, mid-stay, end of stay) and 24/7 AFS support.
Selection Criteria
- Be a Citizen of Ghana or permanent resident with a Ghana passport
- Students must be in a Ghanaian High School
- Must be highly academic and in the top quartile of their class
- Exhibit strong leadership skills
- Be of good conduct.
- Must be willing to be a cultural ambassador
- Must be born between 23 April 2005 to 23 March 2008
Application process
Interested students must submit a short video (2 minutes), no later than 19 October to WhatsApp number 0204529716. The video should include the following:
- Introduce yourself
- Tell us why you should be considered for this scholarship?
- Discuss briefly what you know about Japan and show and tell something peculiar to Japan or Japanese culture (language, food or music… etc.)
